We are currently seeking an experienced individual to join this team in the role of Senior Manager Capital Management.
This role is to manage the BAU capital planning and forecasting process and ensure that the Capital Adequacy Reporting to the Prudential Regulation Authority (PRA) for HSBC UK is accurately prepared within the required timelines.
In this role, you will:
* Execute HSBC UK’s capital plan including capital distributions and issuances, managing permissions, documentation, and notifications.
* Provide timely, accurate and relevant advice to senior management to better manage the business within regulatory constraints, including writing and contributing to ALCO and Board papers.
* Examine the impact of the business growth plans, regulatory developments and anticipated changes to the customer credit ratings on the risk weighted asset (RWA) projections to ensure HBUK is well placed to meet its future regulatory capital requirements.
* Direct the improvement in visibility and understanding of current capital usage and enhance the existing RoTE framework.
* Review and approve capital instrument related disclosures included within the annual report and Pillar 3 document.
* Contribute to the production of HBUK’s annual Internal Capital Adequacy Assessment Process (ICAAP).
* Produce capital plans under both BAU and stress conditions; and highlight to senior management the risks HBUK is exposed to and support setting of Capital Risk Appetite.
* Assist in delivery of monthly PRA 101 and internal management reporting, ensuring accuracy and timely delivery.
* Assess the capital impacts on HSBC UK from new transactions.
* Maintain a strong controls environment to support capital management.
To be successful in this role you should meet the following requirements:
* Qualified Accountant (ACCA, ACA, CIMA or equivalent), qualified CertBALM or qualified by experience.
* Demonstrable experience in Banking and ideally with treasury, capital management, capital reporting, risk management and regulatory experience.
* Broad understanding of financial budgets/ statements/ models, with experience of analysing data effectively for planning, forecasting, and reporting.
* Collaborative, engaging, credible and methodical; being able to bring the numbers and narrative to life (e.g., creating business/ operating plans, presenting).
* Experience of building and maintaining strong relationships with senior stakeholders (all levels of seniority).
The base location for this role will be Birmingham and with a hybrid working pattern.
