We are looking for a Psychology graduate who has a good honours degree in Psychology to work with us in our Acute Services within the Working Age Division and are pleased to offer a post working across two new wards on the Kingsway site in Derby.
Audrey House, an Enhanced Care Unit (ECU) for women, and Kingfisher Ward, a male Psychiatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU), provide an exciting opportunity to join teams that value the contribution that Psychology brings to their work, alongside a wider supportive network of Psychologists and Psychological Therapists working across the Trust.

Main duties of the job
The successful candidate will work under the supervision of the Clinical Psychologists on each ward. Patient-facing work will include short-term 1:1 assessment, formulation, intervention, and group work. The successful candidate will be expected to work closely with multi-disciplinary colleagues to promote holistic care.
The successful candidate will contribute to the service development of the psychological offer on the new wards, including the embedding of trauma-informed care. This will involve the development, delivery, and evaluation of training sessions alongside the qualified Clinical Psychologists.
The successful candidate will have good interpersonal, organisational, and communication skills in order to engage with people with mental health difficulties, their family members, and carers. The post holder will support research and audit activities under the supervision of an experienced qualified Clinical Psychologist.

To support and enhance the psychological assessment and interventions of people receiving a service from Clinical Psychologists working in the Derbyshire Healthcare Foundation NHS Trust within the Older Peoples Acute and Working Age Adult Acute Mental Health Service. To work within a multidisciplinary team providing psychological assessments under the supervision of a qualified Clinical Psychologist, working independently according to a plan agreed by a qualified Clinical Psychologist and within the overall framework of the services policies and procedures. To assist with assessments, formulations, care plans, and report writing. To assist in carrying out audit and research projects, including the collection and analysis of data, teaching, and project work.
