About the Role:
My client is seeking a highly motivated and intellectually curious Quantitative Researcher with a strong academic background (PhD preferred) and a passion for Web3 and digital assets. This role sits at the intersection of quantitative finance, blockchain technology, and crypto markets, offering an exciting opportunity to explore cutting-edge strategies within a rapidly evolving space.
As part of their Digital Asset and Web3 Research team, you will leverage advanced quantitative techniques, data science, and blockchain analytics to identify opportunities, develop innovative trading models, and contribute to the firm’s investment strategies in the digital asset ecosystem.
Key Responsibilities:
* Conduct quantitative research and statistical modeling to identify alpha opportunities across digital asset markets (spot, futures, options, and DeFi protocols).
* Develop and implement systematic trading strategies for crypto and Web3-related assets.
* Analyze on-chain data, smart contract interactions, and market microstructure to gain unique insights.
* Build and refine predictive models, leveraging large datasets from both traditional finance and blockchain ecosystems.
* Collaborate with traders, engineers, and fellow researchers to develop risk-adjusted portfolio strategies.
* Stay ahead of emerging trends in Web3, DeFi, NFTs, and blockchain technology, translating innovations into investment opportunities.
Key Qualifications:
* PhD in a quantitative field such as Mathematics, Physics, Computer Science, Engineering, or Quantitative Finance.
* Strong programming skills in Python, C++, or Rust, with experience working with blockchain APIs and on-chain analytics.
* Solid understanding of digital asset markets, including DeFi protocols, staking, DEXs, and perpetual futures.
* Experience with statistical modeling, machine learning, and time-series analysis.
* Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams.
* Passion for Web3, blockchain innovation, and the crypto ecosystem.
