Job summary It's an exciting time to be joining the Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland communications and engagement team as we move into the next phase of development. The NHS in the UK is going through some exciting and transformative times, particularly with its 10-year plan and the ongoing engagement with staff, patients, and the public that this will bring. Why is it exciting? Innovation: The integration of new technologies, such as digital health records, telemedicine, and AI-based diagnostics, is creating a more connected and efficient healthcare system. Empowerment: Committed to patients and the public having more opportunities to engage in their care and in the broader decisions about how services are delivered. Workforce Investment: The focus on supporting NHS staff, reducing burnout, and attracting new talent will aim to ensure that the NHS can continue to deliver world-class care, despite growing demand. Preventative Health: Moving towards more preventative care instead of reactive treatment can have long-term benefits for public health and reduce strain on the system. We are refreshing and reviewing our own People and Communities strategy to support this period of significant change, with significant effort being put into making sure we have the right engagement from all sectors of society. The opportunities for telling the story of the local NHS and positively influencing people's knowledge about using services and looking after their health will be endless. There is a lot to get stuck into to make a difference in supporting the future of health and care - integrating new technologies, empowering local people with more opportunities to engage in their care, supporting our workforce and the shift towards preventative care instead of reactive treatment.
