Over its 26-year life, BS Stainless Limited has also developed a strong export business which mainly includes the supplying of metal jacketing and ancillary products for pipelines, tanks and insulation equipment to projects in a range of industries. This includes oil and gas, pharmaceutical, chemical, power generation and nuclear industries in over 50 countries.
The company is currently seeking a Quality & Environmental Compliance Coordinator to be based at their manufacturing site in Preston, Lancashire.
Role overview:
The Quality & Environmental Compliance Coordinator will be responsible for ensuring compliance with quality and environmental standards throughout the organisation. The role will involve monitoring and improving quality and environmental practices, ensuring compliance with ISO 9001:2015 & ISO 14001:2015, carrying out manual quality checks, conducting internal audits and overseeing the non-conformance and customer complaint reporting.
Predominantly, the scope of the role will be quality and environmental focussed with potential progression into additional health and safety related responsibilities.
Key Responsibilities:
* Maintain, improve and ensure compliance of the quality and environmental policy for the entire site
* Develop a positive quality and environmental culture across all departments
* Ensure compliance of the ISO 9001:2015 quality standard across the business
* Ensure compliance of the ISO 14001:2015 environmental standard across the business
* Stay up to date with relevant external legislation affecting the business’ quality and environmental obligations
* Conduct internal audits on the organisations integrated management system
* Liaise with external auditors
* Implement new quality and environmental initiatives to improve business performance
* Maintain and control both supplier and internal non-conformance reporting
* Maintain and control customer complaints ensuring sufficient resolutions and corrective actions are implemented
* Liaise with both office and factory-based colleagues
* Reporting on quality performance
Desirable Skills:
* Quality compliance background, preferably within manufacturing
* Environmental compliance background
* Knowledge of industry-related legislation and standards
* Ability to conduct audits
* Experience in root cause analysis
* Strong communication skills both written and verbal
* Excellent planning and organisational skills
* Commercially minded
