We are currently searching for an experienced Stress Engineer to undertake stress analysis and FEA work using ANSYS on rotating equipment subject to heavy component loading!
Working as part of a team, you will conduct simulations to determine performance.
Your Responsibilities (non-exhaustive):
1. Carry out analysis project work.
2. Undertake analysis tasks (FEA, System Analysis, Rotor Dynamics, for example) as required to support projects.
3. Contribute to the establishment, validation, and maintenance of analysis procedures.
4. Support manufacturing and purchasing concession requests.
5. Provide support to the Engineering Managers and Tet Engineering Team.
6. Provide a critique of analytical and design proposals to ensure product integrity.
7. Provide customer-facing support as required.
8. Create engineering analysis cost estimations.
Your Knowledge and Experience:
1. In-depth knowledge of structural analysis techniques, including fatigue analysis to the level required for component certification by outside bodies.
2. In-depth knowledge and hands-on experience of the use of FEA software.
3. The ability to critically review analysis work and correct where necessary.
4. Knowledge of shafts, bearings, thermal response, noise and vibration, and some basic tribology.
5. Knowledge of relevant industry standards and design protocols (ISO, AGMA, DIN, FKM, DNV for example) (preferred).
6. Ability to perform complex hand calculations from first principles.
7. Knowledge of rotor dynamic analysis.
