The post-holder will be expected to deliver a high quality, effective and efficient radiographic service to the highest professional standards. The role is to provide clinical excellence and manage the day-to-day organisation of the area providing effective and efficient leadership of the area. To maintain a high level of clinical expertise. To participate in department shift system and/or out of hours roster. To encourage and practice right first time radiography and strive to achieve quality assurance in all aspects of the radiology service. To oversee and assist in the training of new staff and continuous development of departmental staff within the area to enable adequate cover and to meet ongoing demands of the service. To work with the Practice Development leads and Clinical Practice Facilitators to ensure that student radiographers are supported and metered during their clinical placements. To assist in the development, documentation and monitoring of protocols for working practice within the area. To monitor the performance of equipment and report and act upon all potential and actual faults and hazards. Ensure that the appropriate documentation has been completed and filed. Ensure that the appropriate staff, including the Superintendent are kept informed. To support 7-day working, including bank/public holidays as required by the needs of the service. To assist the Superintendent in the investigation of incidents, concerns, or complaints and to update records and provide feedback.
