Volunteer Mentor - Herts (Multiple Locations)
MCR Pathways are seeking volunteer mentors over the age of 21, to work across schools in Herts (locations Cheshunt, Hemel, Hertford, Stevenage, Tring) to make a life changing difference to a disadvantaged young person!
Mentoring is on site (either in a school or council premises) with young people between the age of 14 and 18.
The requirement is an hour a week during term time, with a minimum commitment of a year, ideally longer.
The mentor's role is simply to listen and build a relationship and trust with that young person on a one to one basis, to champion that young person and help them find their talent and reach their potential.
We believe young people should be defined by their talent not their circumstances!
What additional skills or experience you should have
What training we will provide for you
What you will get out of volunteering for us
Our aim is to help young people unlock their potential, no matter their circumstances. Working together with our inspiring mentor community and partners, we can help young people to realise their skills and progress onto a positive destination. Our vision is for all young people to experience equality of education outcomes, career opportunities and life chances.
