Job Description:
Our client, a leading manufacturing organisation in the packaging industry, is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Electrical Maintenance Engineer to join their team. This role offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to the company's success and be a key team member.
Responsibilities:
1. Perform daily preventative maintenance activities and routine safety inspections.
2. Diagnose faults and perform troubleshooting during reactive breakdowns or planned maintenance.
3. Carry out planned preventative maintenance on various production machinery, including extruders and site services.
4. Ensure prompt and efficient resolution of breakdowns while maintaining PPM schedules.
5. Follow and promote strict HSE and company safety practices.
6. Collaborate with the operations team to support plant and equipment, maximizing production output.
7. Engage in continuous improvement initiatives and propose solutions for better workflows.
8. Perform maintenance tasks as part of planned schedules or as directed by the Engineering Manager.
9. Respond quickly to unplanned maintenance issues to minimize downtime.
10. Investigate incidents thoroughly to identify root causes.
11. Prioritize maintenance activities based on preventative schedules and resource availability.
12. Make informed decisions quickly, using experience and best practices.
13. Involve specialists for resolving complex issues.
14. Maintain accurate and high-standard documentation of maintenance records.
Experience Required:
1. Flexible, motivated, with strong logical fault-finding skills and decision-making abilities.
2. Completion of a time-served apprenticeship or equivalent qualification in a related discipline.
3. Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills; confident team player.
4. Experience in a production maintenance environment.
5. Proactive approach to health, safety, and environmental issues.
6. Ambitious, driven, and results-oriented with a positive attitude.
Qualifications:
1. NVQ or HNC/Degree in Engineering.
2. 18th Edition BS7671 certification.
3. Experience with Lean and Six Sigma tools.
General Information:
* Core hours: Monday to Friday, 8am-5pm
* Basic salary: £41,500 per annum
* 25 days annual leave plus bank holidays
* 5% employee and 3% employer pension contributions
* On-call rota every 3rd weekend; call-out paid minimum of 4 hours
* Overtime rates apply on Saturdays, with double pay on Saturday evenings and Sundays
