The Team: Broadway Academy has a ‘bank’ of casual cover supervisors we can call on day-to-day as the need arises to cover staff absences. We know that trained cover teaching with a commitment to the values of the Academy and the ability to provide consistency in managing standards is the best for our students. The Role Ideally, you will have: • experience of working with young people in a classroom environment • excellent interpersonal skills and capability to form good relationships with students and staff • the commitment to carrying out varied cover and support duties in a busy school • ability to maintain high standards of teaching and learning • a good standard of written and oral communication skills • be able to work on your own initiative and possess excellent organisational skills • a desire to make a difference to our students and their outcomes Importantly, you must be prepared to be available on the day when we may need you. Our Cover Manager assesses staff gaps and the school’s capacity to cover student learning every morning at 7:00am and organises additional support for a smooth start to the day for 8:40am. What you will get: You will get a real opportunity to make a difference within a school which encourages students and staff to be aspirational. A full working day is 8:30am 4:00pm with a 30 min unpaid break. Shorter cover assignments may also be offered. Work offered and accepted day-to-day will be paid at the day rate. You will receive appropriate training and development. Staff wellbeing is a priority for the Trust, and you will have access to the employee assistance programme. This post is covered by Part 7 of the Immigration Act (2016). Therefore the ability to speak fluent and spoken English is an essential requirement for this role.
