Job Title: Project Planner (HVDC) Contract: Inside IR35 Location: Staffordshire, UK (100% Onsite) Contract Duration: 12 months Rate: GBP £34-39 per hour Working Hours: Monday – Friday Job Description: We are currently seeking a highly skilled Project Planner with a background in Electrical Engineering and experience in HVDC (High Voltage Direct Current) to join our team in Staffordshire. This is a contract role that requires the candidate to work 100% onsite. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in driving the project schedule, managing risks, and ensuring timely project completion. Key Responsibilities: Develop and maintain the single project schedule, representing the entire project by integrating inputs from all functions, units, and third parties. Ensure proper linkages in the schedule to show all interdependencies between contributing parties. Challenge the project team to ensure schedule risk is managed and aligned with historical performance while maintaining a competitive offering. Ensure functional owners sign off on their commitments and are held accountable for their deadlines. Collaborate with the overall project planning team to align the schedule with the overall project timeline. Maintain the schedule throughout the project lifecycle, obtaining inputs from all project contributors. Facilitate regular status reviews with the project team to assess schedule status and operating rhythms. Analyze and forecast potential schedule risks and opportunities using available tools and expertise. Provide “what if” scenarios to optimize project execution and evaluate their feasibility. Generate look-ahead, backlog, and future late reports to clearly communicate risks and prioritize actions. Drive functional owners to mitigate risks and ensure follow-up on risk mitigation actions. Provide strategies to mitigate risks and keep the project on track. Provide regular status updates and contractually required customer reports, communicating directly with customers on scheduling matters. Key Skills & Requirements: Electrical Engineering background with direct experience in HVDC (High Voltage Direct Current) systems. Strong analytical skills to interpret data and forecast outcomes effectively. Clear and effective communication skills, with the ability to influence and work with cross-functional teams. Proficiency in Primavera (or similar scheduling tools). In-depth understanding of cost management and scheduling in a project environment. Proven experience in developing and maintaining complex project schedules. Ability to manage project risks and provide effective mitigation strategies. Strong collaborative skills to work with both internal and external teams, ensuring alignment with global standards.
