Reed Accountancy in Oxford are pleased to be once again partnering with a historic part of the Oxford University to help source a Management Accountant to join their close knit yet busy finance function. The responsibilities of the role include, but are not limited to: Manage the preparation and completion of quarterly management accounts and year-end statutory accounts for the Staff Pension Scheme independently. Assist the Finance Manager with the preparation of Management Accounts. Assist the Finance Manager with month end closing routines. Reconcile, prepare, and post all monthly journals, including investment journals related to the Pension Scheme. Assist with the preparation and submission of tax returns. Provide support to the Finance Office, including the preparation of Committee papers. Conduct monthly credit control reviews and prepare summary reports for the Finance Manager. Identify and lead improvement projects within your area of work. Set up academic allowances and grants projects/codes, ensuring prompt processing of payments and accurate updating of grant records in collaboration with the Finance Assistant. Perform monthly bank reconciliations for all accounts. Reconcile nominal ledger control accounts monthly, resolve discrepancies, and propose necessary journals or solutions. Maintain up-to-date standard operating procedures (SOPs) for your area of responsibility. Process donations and other income, assisting with Charitable Funds management and reporting. Analyse and post monthly company credit card transactions, monitor and report spending, and verify unusual entries with cardholders. Review and distribute monthly project reports. Process month-end journals as required. Assist with the preparation of schedules and documentation for the year-end statutory audit as needed. The ideal candidate for this role will be an accomplished Management Accountant - with excellent business partnering skills, capable of communicating and reporting to a variety of stakeholders within the organisation. Ideally, you will be part qualified ACCA/CIMA/ACA or QBE, with extensive experience. You will be able to fit into a busy, yet small finance function, and be keen to find a role with ownership. On occasion, you will have to support the Accounts Assistants - so an individual who is not afraid to get "hands on" is a must. Finally, you will have excellent Excel skills and ideally have worked on a number of accounting systems and packages.
