Salary: Starting at £40,475 per year

About the Role:
As a vital member of our growing team, you'll help keep YPO's finances on course and support strategic decision-making to drive our goals. Building strong relationships will be central to this business partner role, so being a natural communicator and a team player is important.
You'll be working closely with the Financial Controller to prepare and interpret our monthly management accounts, budgets, forecasts, and year-end reports. You'll bring valuable insights that support our strategic projects and work directly with Budget Holders and Senior Management to guide financial performance, decision-making, and budget control. You'll also have regular contact with senior leaders and board members, where confidence and clarity will be key to challenging ways of working, and consulting on positive change.
A big part of what you'll do is work across departments to develop strategies that boost efficiency, manage costs, and increase profitability. You'll enhance segmental reporting and activity-based costing, keeping our commercial reporting useful and relevant. With a focus on customer service, you'll provide insights that promote sustainable growth, with your solid financial and budgeting skills underpinning all these efforts.
Adaptability, organisation, and self-motivation are essential here. You'll juggle priorities, deliver practical solutions, and drive progress at YPO. As well as providing excellent customer service and support to internal teams and senior management, you'll be part of a collaborative environment that values efficiency and continuous improvement.
Essential Criteria:
1. Fully qualified accountant with either ACCA, ACA, CIMA, or CIPFA, or in the final stages of obtaining certification.
2. A minimum of three A-levels, including one in a numeric subject, or equivalent qualifications.
3. Extensive experience in finance, particularly in managing monthly accounts, budgets, forecasts, and financial plans to meet tight deadlines.
4. Proven experience in advising non-finance teams, helping them manage budgets and understand performance.
5. Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with a collaborative and approachable demeanour.
6. Advanced MS Excel skills, including complex formula development and data analysis.
7. Confident in preparing and presenting financial reports, analysis, and proposals for finance teams, management and directors.
8. Analytical problem-solver who is adaptable, self-managed, and motivated to create solutions and inspire collaboration across teams.
