New Year - New Career Opportunity! CHCP has an exciting apprenticeship opportunity that would suit individuals wishing to achieve Health Care Professions (HCPC) registration and a degree qualification whilst earning a salary.
What is Podiatry? Podiatrists provide advice, care, assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of a range of problems affecting the lower limb. Keeping mobile and retaining independence affects the quality of people's lives. Podiatrists play a pivotal part in reducing the risk of amputation, infection, pain, deformity, and hospital admissions.
Podiatrists work in both the NHS and independent sector, with opportunities to work in a range of environments and specialisms including wound care, diabetes, rheumatology, musculoskeletal, and podiatric surgery.
Main Duties of the Job
Podiatrists work with all members of the multi-disciplinary team. Podiatry is a very rewarding job; most students choose to study Podiatry for job satisfaction and career opportunities. The successful candidate would be employed full-time at band 3 and supported throughout their training by an established podiatry team.
Typically, apprentices attend university 2 - 3 days a week during term time, with workplace learning for their remaining hours. Degree apprenticeship duration is 2 - 4 years dependent on entry level.
On successful completion of the Podiatry degree, individuals will progress to a band 5 role. Applicants must have Maths & English GCSE and the equivalent of 2 - 3 'A' levels or be willing to work towards.
