Bridgend County Borough Council ICT Department has transformed the way it deals with mail using cutting edge technology. The staff within the Digital Office, based in the Civic Offices, deal with all incoming mail, using state of the art scanning facilities and OCR software to scan and index mail to the correct department. The Digital Office is also home to the Council’s print room using digital photocopiers.
Working in a small team you will be scanning and indexing mail so that officers receive their mail electronically. The scanning of back-office files in the quest for a paper light office is also included in the role, as are opportunities to work in a quality print production unit. Office administration and a knowledge of Microsoft Office products is desirable.
A good standard of education or an ability to demonstrate competence through experience in a mail, scanning, print room or office environment is desirable. Good administration and organisational skills are also desirable.
Protecting children, young people or adults at risk is a core responsibility of all council employees.
A basic criminal records check by the Disclosure & Barring Service (DBS) is a requirement for this post.
