Job Description
To provide an efficient and effective reception and clerical support service within the school.
Responsibilities
1. To provide a general reception service to members of the public and visitors to the school.
2. General clerical duties.
3. Typing/word processing.
4. Book keeping as required.
5. Other duties.
The Individual
6. Experience of working in a busy office environment using relevant technology and equipment e.g. photocopier, E-mail, Intra/Internet
7. Significant clerical/administration/typing experience, including production of letter/report, filing, cash handling and dealing with the public
8. Experience of using a range of computer packages including Microsoft Office, Excel, Access, Phoenix, Publisher, Seemis
9. 4 SQA standard grades or equivalent (at level 3 or above, including English and Mathematics/Arithmetic*)
10. Advanced keyboard qualification (RSA II in typing, audio typing, word processing)/ ECDL/Clait* (or equivalent working knowledge of Microsoft software packages)
11. Ability to use initiative when required
12. Flexible in approach and open to different ways of working
13. Self-confidence and self-motivated
14. Effective communication skills: oral and written
15. Excellent interpersonal skills
16. Ability to record information accurately
17. Strong customer care skills and focus
18. Ability to work on own and as part of a team
19. Sound knowledge of software packages e.g. Microsoft Office
20. Ability to demonstrate a high standard of numeracy and literacy
21. Effective organisational skills/time management with the ability to respond to conflicting and competing demands
22. Ability to prioritise workload, in accordance with objectives and targets
23. Ability to relate well with all levels of staff

Long term temporary appointment for up to 23 months.

Starting Salary: £24,.10 (pro rata)
£13.26 per hour
29.25 hours per week (47 week contract, ie term time working plus balance of days to be worked during school holiday periods)
