OCU Modus Limited (Part of the OCU Group) are currently looking for a Project Manager to join our team. Assisting the Contracts Manager with meeting expectations and requirements of our customers and ensuring compliance with relevant legislation. Your role will also require you to understand the contractual issues specific to the projects employed on. Our ideal postholder will have significant construction experience with SHEQ exposure and have programming or planning experience with good commercial acumen/awareness. In addition, the postholder will be required to travel frequently and should therefore have a full UK driving licence. Duties and Responsibilities Review all contracts/projects to ensure that the Company and client’s requirements and expectations are fully identified, agreed and understood Understand the construction programme, key dates, milestones and resource requirements for individual projects/contracts Organise works for teams daily to ensure the Company and client requirements are met Comply with the requirements of the company Integrated Management System with regards to Safety, Health, Environment and Quality Promote Company policies and objectives throughout the organisation to increase awareness, motivation and involvement Assist the Contract Manager in achieving Company and client targets, objectives and project/contract performance, particularly with regard to SHEQ Assist with investigating and report all incidents as required under RIDDOR, report all utility damages, and all third-party claims received as per the Company procedures Generate Method Statements, Risk Assessments and CD Plans with assistance from the Head of SHEQ Conduct regular site inspections to ensure site compliance with current legislation, deliver toolbox talks and carry out joint inspections with the client as required Raise company awareness with regard to H&S issues Maintain accurate site diary and records as required under the project/contract Complete accurate timesheets and submit in accordance with company procedures Order plant and materials and record on a weekly basis, ensuring it is fit for use on site with relevant test certificates in accordance with Company procedures Minimise customer dissatisfaction by promoting continuous improvement and taking corrective/preventative action Monitor all activities on site to ensure safe work practices and safe site conditions Ensure all operators have relevant training certificate and are competent Ensure Sub-contractors are compliant to the Company’s SHEQ Policy and their accreditations Maintain effective communications across all stakeholders General Responsibilities: Read and understand the Company's SHEQ Policy and the Integrated Management System (IMS) Responsibility for your own compliance with the Company's SHEQ, Drugs & Alcohol and Training Policies as issued Present a professional image when dealing with the public and our clients (clean vehicles, plant, barriers, PPE) Take ownership of personal development in order to maintain and build professional capabilities Skills and Experience: NRSWA (New Roads and Streetworks Act) qualification (desirable) Full UK driving licence (essential) Microsoft Project experience Site Managers Safety Training Scheme (SMSTS) CSCS/EUSR Card specific to the contract they are employed on Valid First Aid training Applicants should have a minimum of 5 years' experience in the utility sector, with at least 5 years' experience in a supervisory role and be able to demonstrate knowledge or skills in the following areas: Health & Safety and environmental awareness Safe excavation - including the use of Cat and Genny Manual handling HAV Risk assessments COSHH Company Information: Established in 1994, OCU Group is one of the fastest growing utility engineering contractors in the UK, with a long successful track record in delivering customer-focused civil engineering solutions.
