We are seeking a locum Consultant in Obstetrics and Gynaecology with an interest in gynaecology oncology/laparoscopic surgery at Frimley Park Hospital. The post holder will work closely with another colleague on site with the same special interest and with the Tertiary cancer centre at Royal Surrey County Hospital.
The post holder will undertake their on-call rota for Obstetrics and Gynaecology commitments at Frimley Park Hospital (FPH). This includes a 1 in 20 “hot week/Consultant of the week” commitments as well as working 5 weekends a year, participating in both non-resident on-call weekends and 12-hour consultant resident shifts on the Labour Ward Saturday and Sunday daytime. It is anticipated that the post holder will undertake their outpatient clinics and inpatient surgical operating sessions at both FPH and Heatherwood Hospitals.
The successful candidate will be expected to participate in cross site guidelines and governance processes and teaching for both Obstetrics and Gynaecology. They will be expected to participate in both local and network Gynaecology Oncology MDTs and management of the Suspected Cancer Pathways. They will be supported by cancer Nurse Specialists and admin/cancer performance team.
The proposed timetable, each week, which has some degree of flexibility will include:
1. Rapid Access Clinic 1.0 PA
2. Colposcopy and Vulval Clinics 0.5 PA
3. Hysteroscopy (alternate weeks) 0.5 PA
4. Gynae Theatre list 1.0 PA
5. ANC 1.0 PA
6. SDEC twilight session (Optional) 0.5 PA
7. MDT 0.25 PA
8. Post MDT clinic (virtual and face to face) 0.5 PA
9. Triage/PTL/admin 0.5 PA
10. Out of hours (including resident Consultant night 1.3/month) 2.8 PA
11. SPA 1.5 PA
