Job Purpose
:
The Depot Manager is responsible for leading and managing the South East Depot team comprising of Generator PDI engineers, Generator workshop engineers, Electrical PDI engineers, Transport team (Drivers), Hire rental and administration teams.
The Depot Manager will have full P & L Responsibility and be responsible for the Depot’s team’s performance, operational efficiencies, Health and Safety compliance whilst also ensuring excellent customer service standards.
Key Responsibilities
Team Leadership & Management
1. Supervise and support the hire desk rental function
2. Supervise and support the Generator PDI team
3. Supervise and support the Workshop team in conjunction with the Asset Manager
4. Supervise and support the Service engineers in conjunction with the Service Manager
5. Supervise and support the Electrical PDI team
6. Supervise and support the Transport team
7. Set clear performance targets and ensure team members are motivated and
aligned with company goals
8. Conduct regular team meetings, performance reviews and provide training to
enhance skills and knowledge
9. Foster a culture of collaboration, safety, and continuous improvement
Operational oversight
10. Oversee the entire generator hire process, right through to off-hire, ensuring timely and efficient service delivery
Customer Service & Relationship Management
11. Act as an escalation point for complex or high profile customer enquiries or issues, ensuring prompt resolution
12. Supervise / mentor the Rental Controllers to maintain high levels of customer standards
13. Build and maintain strong relationships with key accounts and company stake holders
14. Review / analyse customer feedback and implement improvements to enhance service quality
Compliance & Safety
15. Ensure all equipment adheres to relevant safety and compliant standards and company policies
16. Oversee the company’s health and safety procedures to ensure compliance
17. Regularly review PDI processes to ensure compliance with current regulations and company policies
Budget & Cost Management
18. Manage budgets related to the South East Depot Location
19. Monitor costs and identify cost saving opportunities whilst maintaining service quality
20. Manage all staff overtime and holiday allocations
Reporting & Analysis
21. Provide regular reports on team performance, customer spends, customer satisfaction and operational efficiencies
22. Use data driven insights to identify areas for improvement and implement process enhancements
23. Present performance updates to the Senior Management Team highlighting successes and addressing challenges
Skills and Experience
24. Proven experience in a management role within the equipment hire or Power Generation industry
25. Strong technical knowledge of generators
26. Experience leading diverse teams, including technical, administrative and sales
27. Excellent organisational and multi-tasking skills
28. Proficiency in using rental management software packages
29. Strong understanding of compliance, safety and regulatory standards within the generator hire industry
