Responsibilities and duties
Reporting to the Lead Implementation Engineer, you will:
Collaborate with the Operations team during project scoping to ensure all design information aligns with project budgets and timelines, fostering innovation and compliance.
Develop and execute effective tender strategies when selecting external suppliers and contractors.
Oversee tender submissions for subcontractors, suppliers, and plant/materials purchases, ensuring procurement targets are met for the project.
Achieve project targets by effectively utilising operational and support resources at the right times.
Incorporate up-to-date cost forecasts, advising on any potential cost fluctuations, and manage the change order and variation process.
Implement and oversee the commercial strategy for the project.
Ensure contract compliance by maintaining thorough records, paperwork, and site diaries, and document any delays or disruptions to substantiate claims.
Ensure the supplier base has the necessary skills to deliver the project effectively, while managing and motivating the site team.
Regularly review project progress from start to handover to the Operations Team, developing plans to address any challenges.
Maintain a project-specific risk register to provide early warnings, highlight risks, and implement corrective actions for mitigation.
Monitor KPI achievement and collaborate with senior managers and business owners in the supply chain to resolve issues and enhance performance.
Work with the HSE team to develop and enforce the project-specific Quality Plan, ensuring compliance.
Promote a positive safety culture, ensuring the project adheres to all relevant Safety, Health, and Environmental requirements, and fulfil individual responsibilities.
Collaborate with the Safety Leader and Health & Safety Coach/Advisor to prepare and enforce the project's Environmental, Health & Safety Plan.
Oversee the project handover process, ensuring commissioning progress is verified, necessary tests are witnessed, and draft O&M manuals and final drawings are issued.
Clear all outstanding issues and ensure zero defects at project handover.
Drive continuous improvement initiatives across multiple operational sites.
Professional qualifications
We are looking for someone with the following:
Degree qualified in a Chemical, Mechanical, Electrical or other Engineering field of study.
Demonstrable Project Engineering experience in Process Engineering environments such as Biogas, Waste Water, Chemical Engineering or other similar settings.
Proficient in the use of MS Office programs.
A Full UK Driving Licence is essential due to the remote location of the plant (s).
