The role will involve working as and when required by the Academy on shifts and may include evenings and weekends. Are you passionate about wanting to make a difference to young people’s lives? We’ll provide full training, including British Sign Language (BSL) training. We’re seeking enthusiastic and committed Residential Care Workers to join us at the Deaf Academy. Be part of an inspiring team supporting our students (aged 9-25) to develop their independent living skills, whilst supporting their education. Every day as a Residential Care Worker is different. You’ll be supporting our young people who live in our Academy Residential flats to develop their independent living skills, as well as organising social activities, for example, activities in the local community, trips to the beach, cinema or bowling, as well as watching games at Exeter City or Exeter Chiefs and trips to Thorpe Park and other attractions. The hourly rate for this role starts from £14.56ph, including holiday pay and increases with completion of L3 NVQ H&SC and L1, 2 and 3 BSL qualifications.
