Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Optometrist to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing comprehensive eye care services to patients of all ages, including children and seniors. The Optometrist will conduct eye examinations, diagnose visual problems, and prescribe corrective lenses or treatments. A strong emphasis on patient care and the ability to communicate effectively with patients is essential.
Duties
1. Conduct thorough eye examinations to assess vision and detect eye diseases.
2. Diagnose and treat visual disorders and diseases.
3. Prescribe glasses, contact lenses, and other optical aids as needed.
4. Provide pre-operative and post-operative care for patients undergoing eye surgery.
5. Maintain accurate patient records using electronic health record systems such as Epic.
6. Educate patients about eye health, preventive care, and treatment options.
7. Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive patient care.
8. Stay updated on advancements in optometry practices and technologies.
9. Engage in optical sales by recommending appropriate eyewear solutions based on patient needs.
Qualifications
1. Doctor of Optometry (OD) degree from an accredited institution.
2. Valid state license to practice optometry.
3. Strong understanding of medical terminology related to eye care.
4. Experience in pediatrics and senior care is preferred but not mandatory.
5. Proficiency in using electronic health records systems, particularly Epic, is a plus.
6. Excellent interpersonal skills with a focus on patient care and communication.
7. Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment while demonstrating leadership skills.
8. Previous experience in optical sales is advantageous.
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $66,525.50-$85,906.52 per year
