Job summary An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic, well-motivated Deputy Ward Manager to join ward B20 at Sunderland Royal Hospital. B20 is a 26 bedded ward based in the footprint of Emergency Care. The ward works very closely with both the Emergency Department and Emergency Assessment Unit caring for a variety of patients in an acute short stay environment. The ward is looking for a highly motivated registered nurse who is passionate about delivering high quality care, whilst maintaining high standards. As a band 6 nurse, you will be responsible for the day to day co-ordination and management of the ward in the absence of the Ward manager. Main duties of the job The successful candidate will be a registered nurse with the following: Excellent communication skills Excellent management and leadership skills Experience at band 5/6 level in an acute Care setting A willingness to work flexibly in response to changing circumstances A good understanding of the goals and strategic direction of emergency and urgent care Evidence of Continuous professional development Degree level study or evidence of working towards Hours: 37.5 hours per week and must be flexible to the needs of the service.
