If you're a project accountant, you'll know more than most that finance is often the driving force behind projects and integral to maintaining budgets, timeframes, and goals to make them a success. With Integrated Settlement changing the way WMCA works and how budgets are spent, this role is an exciting opportunity for the right candidate to join a high-performing finance team and get stuck in.
You will have the unique opportunity to use your finance knowledge and apply it to projects that make a visible impact to the region, whilst honing your partnering with key stakeholders and senior project managers to support and challenge them to get the best outcomes.
Please note, this is a 12-month fixed-term contract covering an internal secondment.
What you will be doing
* Work with multi-disciplinary teams to articulate and communicate financial information.
* Coordinate submissions of robust annual capital budget proposals.
* Ensure capital budgets and capital funding are monitored and controlled.
* Review month-end, adhering to agreed timescales.
* Provide support and financial advice to budget holders and project managers.
* Assist in the preparation of funding bids and submissions to government.
* Prepare written financial implications for inclusion in formal reports.
What’s essential
* CCAB Qualified or qualified by experience.
* Previous experience of project and financial planning at a senior level.
* Experience of providing financial advice and support to budget holders and senior managers.
* Ability to work across multi-disciplinary teams at varying levels to achieve service outcomes.
Location
The location for this role is 16 Summer Lane, Birmingham, B19 3SD with at least 2 days a week spent in the office.
