The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service would like to invite applications for the post of Fleet Support Driver/Labourer based at the Inverness Asset Resource Centre on a temporary basis.
As part of a national project, 2 fixed term posts are available at each of our Asset Resource Centres (ARC) at Cambuslang, Newbridge, Dundee and Inverness on a fixed term basis (6 months up to 23 months) to support the roll out the new Emergency Services Network (ESN) platform and equipment to all SFRS operational fire appliances / specialist vehicles and other designated cars and light Fleet.
ESN will enable fast, safe and secure voice, video and data across the 4G network and give SFRS as a first responder immediate access to life-saving data, images and information in live situations and emergencies on the frontline.
Applicants require to hold a Class C or Class C+E HGV Licence.
The main activity will be the movement of Fire appliances and other operational vehicles from Station locations to the ARCs and return of same. The post holder will assist workshop staff in the preparation and installation of the services new communications system.

This is a full-time opportunity, working 35 hours per week, however applications from individuals seeking to work on a flexible working basis will be considered.
Applicants should apply for a base ARC location, however, should note that there is a significant requirement to work flexibly across other sites, as part of a national pool to cover leave etc.
Hours are flexible between 08:00 and 23:00 as required and are compliant with road traffic driver hour regulations. Rotas will be scheduled in advance.
Salary on appointment will normally be at the lower salary point, with progression subject to regular review - in line with the SFRS performance appraisal arrangements. A higher salary placing will be considered in exceptional circumstances subject to experience demonstrated.
This post is also subject to the provision of the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exclusions and Exemptions) Scotland Order. Therefore, the successful candidate's will be subject to a Standard Disclosure record check through Disclosure Scotland.
