We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Head of Programme Management Office (Head of PMO). The role of Head of PMO is a pivotal leadership role within the New Frimley Park Hospital Programme, contributing to the design, development and business case development. The Head of PMO is responsible for the effective and efficient and well co-ordinated PMO function, ensuring implementation of best practice of programme governance, management and improvement are adhered to. Working collaboratively with a wide range of stakeholders, the Head of PMO will ensure programme progress and concerns are effectively communicated and escalated. Reporting to the Programme Director, the Head of PMO, will assist in the strategic planning, monitoring, risk management and business change management and playing an integral role in working with and collaborating with stakeholders. Person specification Qualifications Essential criteria Master’s degree or equivalent significant experience in programme management, with proven successful delivery Prince2 practitioner Desirable criteria Leading and Managing Project workstream Experience Essential criteria Significant experience of initiating and delivering a robust PMO function for significant change/ capital projects Experience of presenting to senior executives regarding programme plans Experience of programme governance and reporting Demonstrated capability to plan over short, medium, and long-term timeframes and adjust plans and resource requirements accordingly. Experience of financial management. Experience of developing and delivering complex capital programme business cases. Desirable criteria NHS or other public services operational or service development experience, across a range of services Skills & Knowledge Essential criteria Extensive knowledge of the NHS financial environment and of NHS England and Department of Health. Excellent ability to produce accurate high-quality reports and documentation for internal and external stakeholders Excellent skills in planning, managing, and directing multi-faceted programmes. High level analytical skills and the ability to manipulate and assess qualitative and quantitative data and draw appropriate conclusions.
