Work
Most of your apprenticeship is spent working. You’ll learn on the job by getting hands-on experience.
What you’ll do at work
* The job entails receiving information on customer material requirements and subsequently processing the material according to our Quality Procedures
* Main duties include operating a variety of cutting machinery, including band saws, guillotines and decoilers
* To move material use of overhead cranes and fork trucks will be required (we will provide training)
* In addition the job will require a certain level of physical exertion as steel will need to be manually handled at times and is heavy
* Referring to quality procedures will be required and quality checks will need to be implemented at all parts of the process
* This ensures all staff work to the same standards and improvements can be quickly and uniformly implemented

Essential qualifications
GCSE in:
