Work
As an apprentice, you’ll work at a company and get hands-on experience. You’ll gain new skills and work alongside experienced staff.
What you’ll do at work
Working independently and as part of a team, the role is: Apprentice Process operator / Warehouse person.
The job entails receiving information on customer material requirements and subsequently processing the material according to our Quality Procedures.
Main duties include operating a variety of cutting machinery, including band saws, guillotines and decoilers.
To move material use of overhead cranes and fork trucks will be required (we will provide training)
In addition the job will require a certain level of physical exertion as steel will need to be manually handled at times and is heavy.
Referring to Quality procedures will be required and quality checks will need to be implemented at all parts of the process. This ensures all staff work to the same standards and improvements can be quickly and uniformly implemented.

Essential qualifications
GCSE in:
* Maths and English (grade 9-4 or A*-C)
