Functional Safety Engineer - ISO26262 - System Domain Knowledge - Automotive
Position Overview:
The successful candidate will be responsible for developing safety strategies for powertrain systems ensuring the functional safety of powertrain electronic controls in passenger cars, commercial vehicles, and off highway machines.
Roles & Responsibilities:
1. Primary customer interface to assist with development of Functional Safety Goals and interpret such concepts for the design team.
2. Development of Functional Safety Concept, Safety Case, Development Interface Agreement, and Production Release Report.
3. Perform impact analysis on customer safety goals/safety requirements with the project team.
4. Communicate project technical status internally and externally.
5. Develop Technical Safety Concept (TSC) based on customer Functional Safety Goals, per ISO26262.
6. Review system, software, hardware safety work products.
7. Perform Functional Safety Analysis (FMEA, FTA, FMEDA) and Safety Assessment.
8. Some travel and a flexible work schedule on occasion.
