Ackworth School is seeking to appoint a Deputy Head Pastoral and Boarding for the Senior School as part of our all-through school. Ackworth’s Deputy Head Teachers are key members of our senior leadership team, central to developing academic and pastoral excellence. With space and encouragement to be innovative and creative, over the last few years they have led huge changes to teaching and learning, and to the way students’ well-being is supported.
The Deputy Head Pastoral and Boarding will liaise closely with the Head and the Head of Coram House to develop strategy and lead the pastoral team. The post holder’s direct reports include the Pastoral and Academic Leads, Head of Boarding and DSL. It is anticipated that there will be a teaching load of approximately 40% (10 weekly lessons).
For nearly two hundred and fifty years, Ackworth School has embraced a passion for exceptional learning — open to all, free of judgement, and truly inclusive. It is a place where creativity, ethical thinking, and responsibility flourish. Students are empowered to explore their potential and develop the confidence to make a meaningful difference in the world around them.
Ackworth is a resilient school with robust plans to meet the challenges within the independent sector. We are looking to grow our senior leadership team with professionals who have strategic vision as they identify challenge and the ability to be innovative as they inspire those around them.
