Hyundai Capital UK Ltd (HCUK) is a joint venture company established by Santander Consumer UK and Hyundai Capital Services Korea in 2012. It operates under the Hyundai Finance, Kia Finance and Genesis Finance brands, providing auto funding solutions for both Retailers and Consumers.
Job Purpose
Initially reporting to the MD / DMD, the key purpose of this role is to establish and lead the data management function, ensuring the integrity, security, and optimal use of data to drive informed decision-making and support the strategic goals of HCUK. The Data Manager is responsible for optimising the data infrastructure and ensuring databases are structured properly, maintained efficiently and upgraded when required, to leverage their full potential.
Key Responsibilities
1. Develop and implement a comprehensive data management strategy aligned with the organisation’s overall goals and technology approach. This includes data governance, quality, accuracy, architecture and reporting ‘one truth’ within HCUK.
2. Design & Implement Data Systems – Understand data requirements to identify the types of data the organisation needs, their sources and quality standards required, together with reporting tools and techniques. Create and maintain databases that meet business needs and ensure data integrity.
3. Data Analysis – Deliver data integrity and quality of all data across the business, ensuring that it is accurate, consistent and reliable. This involves implementing quality control measures and regular audits. Identify inconsistencies and provide actionable insights to support data usage, decision-making and reporting enhancements.
4. Data Security – Work with HCUK’s InfoSec Team to ensure data security and confidentiality by implementing robust data management protocols, to protect data from unauthorised access, breaches and other security threats.
5. Governance / Policy Development – Create and enforce policies and guidelines for effective data collection, storage, usage, reporting and sharing (inside and outside HCUK), to ensure the integrity and consistency of data management and compliance.
6. Regulatory Compliance – Work with the Legal & Compliance Team to ensure all data management practices and processing activities comply with relevant laws, legislation and organisational practices, and delivered in accordance with HCUK data protection framework.
7. Work closely with other departments to streamline data collection and analysis processes, ensure accurate and relevant company reporting, troubleshoot issues and assist colleagues with all data-related tasks.
8. Provide guidance and training to the wider HCUK employees on data management best practices, including reporting tools and techniques, to ensure proper data handling and usage.
9. Continuously seek opportunities to improve data management processes and tools.
10. In line with the company’s risk and compliance statement of responsibility and objectives, identify risks, incidents, and breaches, in accordance with company policies and department procedures.
11. Carry out any other tasks from time to time as may reasonably be requested.

Minimum Requirements
* Relevant expertise in data management, preferably in the finance or automotive industry.
* Proficiency in database management software, data analysis tools, and data visualization techniques.
* Strong understanding of data security and regulatory requirements.
* Experience in an organisation with common multiple stakeholder management and exposure to both international and domestic business operations.
Working Conditions
HCUK employees are currently hybrid working (mixture of home/office) at HCUK’s head office in Reigate, Surrey.
