Scope:
Our client is a leader in innovative drug discovery and development, is seeking a Facilities Assistant to support the Director of Facilities. In this role, you will play a critical part in maintaining the operational efficiency, security, and overall appearance of our facilities. This position offers an opportunity to contribute to a dynamic and growing organization, ensuring a safe and productive environment for the teams.
Responsibilities:
* Manage and coordinate breakdown repairs and preventative maintenance for facility equipment.
* Ensure efficient operation of heating, cooling, and ventilation systems; report any defects or malfunctions to the Director of Facilities.
* Supervise contractors and sub-contractors on-site, ensuring compliance with safety and operational standards.
* Maintain security protocols for the premises, acting as a secondary key holder for out-of-hours alarms (fire, intruder, BMS).
* Share on-call responsibilities with the Director of Facilities and Maintenance Engineer.
* Implement and monitor energy-saving initiatives to reduce operational costs and promote sustainability within the facility.
* Arrange safe disposal of technical waste materials, ensuring readiness for collection as required.
* Perform additional duties as needed, including setting up and clearing away furniture for meetings and events.
About You:
* Hands-on approach with strong general maintenance skills.
* Security-conscious with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
* Proactive, organized, and detail-oriented.
* Excellent communication skills, with the ability to collaborate across teams.
* Experience in a laboratory or technology environment is preferred but not essential.
