We are looking for Commercial Underwriter (Property and Casualty) to join our global Financial Services client’s Commercial team on a permanent basis.
As Commercial Underwriter you’ll help drive and transform how our client partners with brokers through responsive, flexible, and collaborative relationships. With a balance of technical and trading capability, you’ll be empowered to make decisions, supported by data, insight, and decision support tools. You’ll be focused on developing and delivering profitable growth, across new and existing business within the key markets.
Our client empowers people to balance their time between home and the office in a way that works best for them, their team and customers. You'll work at least 60% of your week away from home, in the Glasgow office.
THE SUCCESSFUL APPLICANT
* Minimum of 3 years’ experience of working in a commercial Property and Casualty underwriting environment.
* Analytical skills with experience of account monitoring and action planning.
* Keen to learn and challenge the status quo, able to approach tasks from different perspectives while focusing on helping colleagues and customers.
* Be a team player: Able to use your unique skills and knowledge to collaborate with your colleagues, take accountability and discover new ways of doing things.
* Good Negotiation skills and the ability to build strong relationships.
* Pragmatic and confident decision maker with good numerical reasoning skills.
As a precondition of employment for this role, you must be eligible and authorised to work in the United Kingdom.

* Build a reputation as a trading expert with a panel of intermediaries and build confidence in the branch ability through interaction with the Underwriting Technical Centre.
