A further day of holiday is given for each subsequent 5 years of service up to a maximum of 36 days Pension – company contributes 3%, employee 5% (salary sacrifice scheme) Private Medical Insurance Salary: £40,000 - £45,000 DOE Free parking on site OBJECTIVE To contribute to the efficiency and profitability of the business by ensuring that goods are produced to engineering drawings on time, complying with the ISO9001:2015 quality procedures and the company standards. MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES Programming / Setting Produce programmes in CAD CAM software that can be manufactured on 5 Axis CNC Machines and produce component parts to the required standards. Supervise Provide guidance and delegate tasks to a CNC Operator(s) and monitor their daily performance. MAIN DUTIES - Programming using CAD CAM (SolidCAM) - Programming of HAAS 5 Axis - Managing day-to-day production activities, paying strict attention to production schedule and ensuring deadlines are met - Producing components efficiently to the required standards, right first time - Identifying and recommending manufacturing processes to improve efficiency and quality - Develop and provide support to CNC operator(s) - Ensuring aspects of machine shop such as tooling, work holding and planning are continually developed - Stock control and material ordering - Working with internal departments on production planning to ensure machined components fall within assembly production requirements - Complete relevant paperwork - Data entry using a Sage 200 system GENERAL DUTIES - Maintain a log of overtime hours worked and submit to the Design Manager for authorisation on a monthly basis - Attend training courses when requested and maintain knowledge and skills required for your duties, including product training, visiting the parent company facilities in Switzerland if requested - Delivering/collecting parts from customers/suppliers as and when required - Assist to maintain an impeccable standard of housekeeping throughout the premises due to the importance of components being kept clean - Provide cover for other members of staff during absence and holidays, as requested - Carry out any other reasonable duties as requested by senior staff and the Managing Director - Work within the company’s rules and procedures and the Safety, Health & Welfare at Work Act 2005 SKILLS REQUIRED - Numerate and literate - Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings - Ability to work unsupervised within a small team - Conscientious, methodical, organised and tidy - Flexible in approach and able to use initiative - Good communication and team player - Effective interpretation of instructions - Proactive and capable of planning ahead and time management - Adaptable and capable of managing changing priorities and tasks - Be willing to learn about new products and procedures EXPERIENCE REQUIRED - Minimum of three years proven experience in a similar role/similar industry essential - CAD CAM experience. Preferably SolidCAM, however other experience will be considered - Comprehensive experience with 5 Axis machining - Quoting machining time and component costing - Experience with machining various materials such as Aluminium, Mild steel and Stainless steel - Experience using cavity and custom form tools
