You will be responsible for managing and maintaining our database systems, ensuring optimal performance, security, and availability.
You will collaborate closely with engineers, system administrators, and other key stakeholders to support critical data-driven projects.
Key Responsibilities Include: Database Management & Performance Tuning Install, configure, and maintain database management systems (primarily SQL Server, with potential exposure to MySQL and PostgreSQL).
Monitor and optimize database performance, including query tuning, indexing, and configuration adjustments.
SQL Replication, Backup & Recovery Manage SQL Replication processes, including selecting appropriate replication methods and maintaining them.
Implement and manage backup and recovery strategies to ensure data integrity and system availability.
Data Migration Plan and execute data migrations, including upgrading DBMS versions and transferring data between systems.
SSRS & Analysis Services Maintain and administer SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS) and, ideally, have knowledge of Analysis Services and Power BI.
Cloud Management Administer cloud databases (Azure SQL Database, Google Cloud SQL, Databricks) to ensure high availability and performance.
Documentation Maintain detailed documentation of database configurations, processes, and best practices.
Qualifications, Knowledge, and Experience Experience with SQL Server, Azure SQL Database, and Databricks.
Strong understanding of database design and data modeling concepts.
Familiarity with DevOps practices and database automation tools.
Relevant certifications (e.g., Microsoft Certified: Azure Database Administrator Associate) are highly desirable.
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to collaborate across technical and non-technical teams.
Ability to work independently and within a team in a fast-paced environment.
