If so, we’d love to hear from you About the Team The Infrastructure, Labour Markets and Migration team is a friendly team of around 15 policy advisers and economists which sits at the heart of the Treasury’s economics ministry function. · We set the government’s overarching strategy for infrastructure by setting spending priorities, supporting more investment, and facilitating improved delivery. · We lead on the development of key institutions such as the National Infrastructure and Service Transformation Authority. · We lead for HMT on key growth-focused policy areas including the government’s employment and migration policy. About the Job In this role, you will: · Lead HMT on infrastructure policy – working closely with Departments and internal HMT teams, support the work to improve the strategy, co-ordination and delivery of major infrastructure projects. Lead on the delivery of the 10 Year Infrastructure Strategy across HM Treasury. · Oversee wider infrastructure policy, including assessment of needs – there are significant barriers which impact successful delivery of infrastructure strategy and delivery. Work collaboratively across teams to advise on future economic infrastructure requirements. And work flexibility to lead specific projects as demand arises. · Build and manage relationships with a diverse range of stakeholders – including with teams across HMT, other government departments, key industry stakeholders such as the Construction Leadership Council, and supporting senior HMT staff and ministers on infrastructure delivery issues. This role will also support on the strategic direction of the National Infrastructure and Service Transformation Authority. · Develop expertise in infrastructure delivery policy – including on the construction sector and how the UK compares internationally, key issues across the planning system as well as wider infrastructure sectors and delivery issues. · Lead the Infrastructure Strategy Unit, - including line management of currently 1 x SEO and 1 x HEO. About You As a Senior Policy Adviser, you will be pivotal in developing and implementing the UK government's infrastructure strategy, and the delivery and implementation of the 10 Year Infrastructure Strategy.
