Teaching Personnel is looking for passionate, dedicated graduates to work as SEN Teaching Assistants in Primary Schools in Newport. This is an ideal role for anyone wanting to build experience in special educational needs (SEN) while making a real difference in the lives of young learners.

* Job Title: SEN Teaching Assistant
* Location: Newport, South Wales
* Start Date: February/March 2025
* Hours: Monday – Friday, 8:30am – 3:30pm
* Salary: £420 – £500 per week (depending on experience & qualifications)
* Contract: Full-time, with part-time/flexible options available

Your Responsibilities:
* Support pupils with SEN, either 1:1 or in small groups
* Work closely with class teachers and SENCOs to deliver tailored support
* Help students manage emotions and behaviour in a positive and respectful way
* Create a safe, engaging, and inclusive environment that encourages progress
* Adapt learning resources to suit different needs and abilities
* Support students with their emotional wellbeing, confidence, and independence
* Contribute to EHCPs (Education, Health and Care Plans) and IEPs (Individual Education Plans)

We’re Looking For Graduates Who:
* Hold a degree in Psychology, Sociology, Education, Childhood Studies, or a related subject
* Have experience working with children or young people (personal, voluntary, or professional)
* Are passionate about helping children with additional needs
* Can stay calm under pressure and respond to challenges with patience and empathy
* Are enthusiastic, reliable, and confident working as part of a team
* Have strong communication and interpersonal skills
