Spencer Clarke Group are seeking a Homelessness Prevention/Relief Prevention and Relief Officer for a local authority based in West London.
In this role, you will work directly with individuals and families at risk of homelessness, providing tailored advice, developing Personal Housing Plans, and negotiating with landlords and other stakeholders to prevent or relieve homelessness and secure sustainable housing solutions.
Key Duties:
* Manage a caseload, assess housing needs, create and deliver Personal Housing Plans, and support clients in crisis to avoid temporary accommodation.
* Work closely with landlords, agents, and excluders to sustain or secure tenancies and prevent eviction.
* Assist clients with legal processes, benefit applications, and sustaining placements in the private rented sector.
* Stay up to date on housing legislation, welfare reforms, and market trends while keeping accurate case records and reports.
Qualifications and Experience:
The successful candidate will have the following skills / experience:
* Proven experience providing advice and assistance to vulnerable households facing homelessness or housing instability.
* Strong background in frontline, customer-focused roles, dealing sensitively and effectively with complex needs.
* Skilled in mediating with landlords and stakeholders to secure positive housing outcomes for clients.
* Experience managing caseloads, carrying out housing assessments, and applying legal frameworks like the Homelessness Reduction Act 2017.
What's on offer:
Salary: £26+ph
*may negotiate higher for exceptional candidates, based on experience*
Contract type: 3-6 months minimum, with a high likelihood of extension
Hours: Monday to Friday, 36 hours per week
