The Role The PHOENIx intervention is a health and social care complex intervention based on what matters to homeless people at the time of consultation. It is based on a model of assertive outreach and will work with People with Severe and Multiple Disadvantage (PSMD). Participants are randomised to either the PHOENIx intervention usual care or solely usual care and are seen at a venue comfortable to them and the PHOENIx team e.g. Third sector homelessness drop-in venues, community pharmacies, temporary accommodation, NHS health and social care venues. This post would require to work as part of a wider complex intervention trial (PHOENIx – health and social care), carrying out duties as an ANP, and working alongside a social care worker from Turning Point Scotland (TPS). The ANP will deal with health issues and the social care worker will focus on social care needs (e.g. housing, benefits, employment). Additional Information Specific to the Role In addition to the above, the Post-holder’s responsibilities will also include: Providing key support to local Principal Investigator who has the legal responsibility for conducting the study in accordance with the: Protocol UK Policy Framework for Health and Social Care Research Carrying out all relevant duties as delegated to them by the local Principal Investigator, as defined in the Protocol and recorded in the Study Delegation Log, including completion of case report forms and maintenance of Investigator Site Files. Assessing individual patients against the specified eligibility criteria for recruitment as detailed within the Protocol, and as directed by the study team. Identifying situations in which there is a breach of Protocol, and will execute the appropriate action under the direction of the Principal Investigator. Liaising closely with Sponsor organisations, Clinical Trials Coordinators and collaborators to ensure that all reporting requirements are met. Support for this role will also come from the wider research team who will provide support in relation to the maintenance of the Investigator Site File and study documents and to adherence to the UK Policy Framework for Health and Social Care Research. The PHOENIx trial is co-sponsored by the University of Edinburgh/NHS Lothian ACCORD. Governance for the ANP will be locally and nurse-led in.
