Our client is seeking experienced field-based Electrical Project Engineers (X2). Please be aware that the role requires long commutes and working away from home Monday to Friday most weeks. Travel is UK-wide and sometimes abroad – excellent overtime and overall financial package offered.
Hours: 39 hours basic week + OT includes travel time
Location: Rochester, Kent – initial period of employment approximately 3 months

This Electrical Project Engineer role is open to any candidate based in the UK. Candidates must be willing to spend time in Rochester, Kent (and other locations) for training. Candidates must also be willing and have the ability to frequently travel excessive distances to various remote sites across the UK, including onshore and offshore works.
As part of our team, the Electrical Project Engineer undertakes the installation and commissioning of high-accuracy energy metering systems.
Electrical Project Engineer – Skills and Experience:
1. Electrical engineering or systems engineering technical background required, OR a BSc/HND in an engineering discipline.
2. Experience of electrical instrumentation and control systems (focus on energy metering).
3. Good knowledge of the power industry, high voltage transmission, and distribution networks.
4. Experience in ethernet connections, programming of switches & routers, for example: SCADA.
5. Experience with communication protocols such as Modbus, MQTT, IEC61850, DNP3, DLMS.
6. Ability to problem-solve and possess an engineering curiosity mindset.
7. Excellent time and task management skills.
8. Good computer skills including MS Office suite and project planning software.
9. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
10. Full driving licence - ESSENTIAL.
11. Relevant training and qualifications (BS 7671 17th/18th Edition Regulations, Full GWO, HUET, Medical and fitness including Chester step) advantageous.
12. Knowledge and experience of precision high accuracy metering OR CT metering is advantageous (CoP1, CoP2).
