We are working closely alongside a Local Authority in Southwark to assist with the appointment of a HGV Driver, on a 3-month contract, highly likely to be extended at the client's discretion. Please apply with your CV for immediate consideration.
Rate of Pay: £18.55 - £23.82 per Hour
Responsibilities:
* To report to the Business Services Manager or an officer delegated with the responsibility.
* To ensure vehicles are road-worthy before, during and after each shift.
* Carry out safety checks as detailed in the drivers log books.
* Complete drivers log books fully and truthfully.
* Report defects and accidents immediately.
* Carry out tasks as assigned, including loading of goods, waste and any other item that needs transporting.
Qualifications:
* An understanding of, and commitment to, the Council's Equality and Diversity Policies in connection with employment and service provision.
* A full, clean class 1 or class 2 heavy goods vehicle licence for LGV drivers.
* A minimum of 2 years experience of working in a cleaning, grounds maintenance, waste management or related work environment as a driver/ LGV driver.

* You should be available to work immediately or at short notice.
* You should have the right to work in the U.K.
