Our client is a leading producer of some of the most recognized and iconic brands in the UK and Ireland. They offer a diverse range of industry-leading own-label products, including fresh pork, lamb, and chicken, and collaborate with major retailers and food service outlets. Their extensive portfolio also features authentic chilled and frozen ready meals, snacking options, added value products, and comprehensive food service solutions.
We are currently seeking a Customer Marketing Manager to develop and implement targeted category growth plans for our customers. The successful candidate will serve as the expert for designated customer(s), facilitating the alignment of category and customer strategies while becoming an essential partner to customer contacts, ultimately driving incremental growth for both parties.
Key Responsibilities:
* Understand the customer growth strategy and support the development and execution of tailored category plans that incorporate customer language and consumer segmentation.
* Build strong partnerships with key customers, establishing relationships that make you an irreplaceable extension of their team.
* Provide regular market data and category insights to customers, along with actionable recommendations.
* Share findings from category and consumer research, offering customer-specific action plan recommendations.
* Manage categories using customer data sources, focusing on ranging, pricing, promotion, channel activation, and merchandising.
* Collaborate with category and innovation teams to create an innovation pipeline for the customer, utilizing both central (push) and customer-driven (pull) strategies, while measuring performance and nurturing product launches.
* Offer channel expertise and work closely with the eCommerce team to implement best practices.
Capability Requirements:
* Strong understanding and experience working with UK grocery retailers.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a talent for storytelling.
* Proven ability to build strong customer relationships and collaborate cross-functionally.
* Creative thinker with a knack for identifying business opportunities and solving problems.
* Strong analytical skills and comfort working with a variety of data sources.
* Ability to distill insights and translate them into actionable learnings and solutions.
* Experience working with designated customer(s) is preferred.
* Prior experience in a Category or Customer Marketing role, particularly with own-label fresh protein, is desirable.
