Quality Engineer Location: Norwich Salary: £35,000 - £38,000 per annum Working Hours: Four and a half day working weekAn exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Quality Engineer to join a well-established company based in Norwich. The successful candidate will play a key role within the Quality Department, ensuring that project and product quality requirements meet customer expectations and comply with all relevant regulatory and contractual standards. Key Responsibilities: Lead customer and certification audits, ensuring contractual requirements are met. Oversee supplier quality assurance, including domestic and international on-site document reviews and inspections. Develop and manage Product Inspection & Test Plans (Control Plans) and Customer Quality Specifications. Compile and manage documentation packs, including records, certificates, and reports. Conduct root cause analysis investigations and implement corrective and preventative actions. Perform dimensional inspections and compile detailed reports. Manage non-conformance reporting and resolution. Essential Qualifications and Experience: BTEC Level 3 in an Engineering discipline. Strong understanding of engineering drawings and the ability to produce inspection and test plans in line with defence contractor requirements. Knowledge of welding, paint specifications, and fabrication processes. Familiarity with national, EU, and international standards and processes. Experience in material certification verification (3.1) and calibration methods for mechanical tooling. Previous experience in a manufacturing environment. Proficiency in MS Word and Excel. Desirable Skills and Experience: Experience working with defence contracts and within a defence environment. ISO9001 certified auditor. Understanding of PFMEA (Process Failure Mode and Effects Analysis). Experience with electric motors and generators. Key Competencies: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Excellent communication and influencing skills at all levels. Meticulous attention to detail and strong organisational abilities. Ability to work to tight deadlines and handle multiple priorities. Proficient in the use of inspection equipment (e.g., micrometers, depth gauges, vernier callipers).
