Job Description:
NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde is one of the largest healthcare systems in the UK employing around 40,000 staff in a wide range of clinical and non-clinical professions and job roles. We deliver acute hospital, primary, community and mental health care services to a population of over 1.15 million and a wider population of 2.2 million when our regional and national services are included.
This is a permanent part-time position of 29.7 hours per week. Please note the salary is Pro Rata for part-time hours. The shift pattern for this position is Monday to Friday, 9 AM to 5 PM.
The role involves providing an effective administrative and clerical service in relation to the management of the IVT and macula service and working with external partnership agencies to ensure the smooth running of the Ophthalmology service. Responsibilities include running reports and liaising with clinicians, nurses, AHPs, patients, community optometrists, and managers. Accurate input of patient details from clinical outcomes to the appropriate return waiting lists and prompt booking of return outpatient’s vacant capacity is essential.
The post holder will work with the existing waiting list coordinators to implement and manage monitoring of the administrative systems. They should demonstrate their ability in:
* Problem solving
* Improving efficiency
* Expanding capacity to deliver activity
* Reducing inappropriate demand on services
* Developing and implementing best practice
