Job Description
Job Purpose
We’re seeking a talented individual to join our Enterprise Architect team in London, which is responsible for our technology transformation agenda. We require an experienced and dynamic Enterprise Architect to create scalable solutions in line with our strategic priorities. Working across multiple functions and domains, you will be someone who can easily adapt, assimilate, and extrapolate to add value.
Key Responsibilities
1. Working with others in the Platform Strategy & Architecture function, based on group strategic needs, help develop technology strategies and roadmaps.
2. Hands-on Enterprise Architecture experience with a can-do attitude and desire to add value daily to achieve excellence in all undertakings.
3. Review and adopt frameworks and standards.
4. Able to quickly understand and document value chains and OpModels.
5. Create and maintain a repository of enterprise architecture design collateral, including blueprints and patterns, to support the federated architecture community.
6. Independently own design problems and high-impacting incidents, front to back without support, engaging stakeholders, SMEs, product managers, BAs, and Solution Architects to achieve the required Enterprise Architecture or solution outcomes.
7. Think outside of the box to add value in addition to solution architects embedded in programme delivery teams.
8. Complete market scan of vendor solutions and create summary papers detailing options and recommendations.
9. Incubate ideas and execute low-cost proof of concepts.
10. Lead software and application assessments, identifying growth & cost optimisation opportunities.
11. Develop cloud-native solutions across multiple cloud platforms.
12. Provide technology thought leadership and oversight of all domain solution architects. Support development of solutions collaboratively, ensuring the designs meet Design Authority and Architecture Review Board standards.
Qualifications
Key Skills and Experience
1. Vast experience working as a Wealth or Asset Management enterprise architect or proven experience as an enterprise architect in tier 1 Financial Services firms more broadly.
2. Delivered modern software and database solutions in an environment that includes SaaS and in-house solutions (including microservices, event-driven design, API, tenants, etc).
3. Experience working as a developer and further experience as a domain solution architect.
4. Experienced in creating architecture design documents at high quality without rework, covering items such as maturity assessments, capabilities map, roadmaps, architectural diagrams, etc., in a variety of formats.
5. Prepare and facilitate the Architecture Review Board and Solution Design Forum.
Professional Qualifications and Education
1. Technical/numerate degree, such as Computer Science, Engineering, Physics, or Mathematics.
2. Minimum enterprise architecture qualifications at professional/expert qualification standard covering Azure and TOGAF.
3. Rapidly understand problem statements & context.
4. Develop architecture framework, governance, and maintain core architecture artefacts and deliverables.
5. Hold architecture reviews, working groups and lead governance forums such as Solution Design Forum and Architecture Review Board.
6. Engage and influence all stakeholders, internal and external, up to C-suite.
