This is an exciting opportunity to join the Research Management Team at Northern Care Alliance NHS Foundation Trust (NCA). This post is open to individuals with experience in clinical research.
The post holder will have the opportunity to be proactive about research, working with the R&I Managers, Deputy Head of R&I and Head of R&I to provide operational management support across multiple specialties at NCA. NCA operates a Research and Innovation (R&I) Department covering four hospitals with the Research Management Team based at Salford Royal.
The role involves utilising your knowledge of the research and regulatory environment within the NHS to facilitate feasibility assessments and the set-up of research studies.
1. To ensure that robust systems for study registration and capacity & capability assessment, arrangement, and confirmation are maintained and completed satisfactorily.
2. To liaise with colleagues across the Trust and in other organisations to make arrangements for the safe and effective delivery of research.
3. To ensure that all research studies are adequately costed and that appropriate contracts and agreements are in place, including subcontracts.
4. To participate in developing, maintaining, reviewing, and managing R&I systems, including the Local Portfolio Management System.
5. To support feasibility and risk assessment of proposed research.
6. To support the development of new studies in their early stages.
7. To support research study management and delivery.
8. To ensure that all studies are processed in accordance with regulatory and legislative regulations and national and local guidelines in conjunction with the R&I Managers and Deputy Head of R&I.
9. To ensure that all study amendments are processed in a timely manner and in accordance with regulatory and legislative regulations and national and local guidelines.
10. To work with support services (e.g. pharmacy, radiology and pathology) to ensure that there is the capacity and expertise to recruit successfully to a given study.
11. To oversee compliance with the Health Research Authority (HRA) for confirming Capacity & Capability.
