Title of Post: Young Carers Community Worker
Hours: 21 hours per week, flexibility is required for the post as it will include evening, weekend, and overnight work due to Young Carers activities and residentials. Happy to talk flexible working.
Place of work: Highland homebased with travel covering Badenoch & Strathspey
Salary: £30,199.03 (£18,119.42) pro rata per annum
Duration: Fixed term 2.5 years
We're recruiting for a Young Carer Community Worker covering Badenoch & Strathspey to ensure Young Carers will be seen, heard, and supported in their community, school, and with their peers.
The purpose of the role is to be the main point of contact for Young Carer referrals in Badenoch & Strathspey, to carry out school awareness raising activities, deliver presentations, develop lesson plans, support the development of Young Carer support groups, and promote Young Carers e-learning modules for both young people and professionals, encouraging schools to develop relevant policies and procedures to identify and support Young Carers.
The successful candidate will have relevant and up-to-date working practice with children and/or young people (preferably Young Carers), the ability to design and deliver engaging presentations and training, and experience in organizing and delivering appropriate, fun, and safe events for Young Carers.
