The University of Nottingham's School of Health Sciences is part of the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences and aims to be a centre of National and International excellence in education, research, and practice development. The School has an excellent record in learning and teaching with several staff being awarded National and University Teaching awards. The School provides pre-registration and post-registration, degree, and higher degree courses.
The School of Health Sciences is seeking to appoint a part-time Teaching Associate to deliver clinical skills teaching. The post will support teaching and assessing clinical components and skills within Nursing programmes, as well as developing clinical skills teaching materials. The School is particularly seeking someone with a Child Nursing focus. The post holder will be expected to work collaboratively with the Director of Clinical Skills, Simulation Lead for Nursing, and relevant programme and course convenors.
A mentor will provide support to the successful candidate during the period of induction. The post-holder will be accountable to the Director of Clinical Skills.
The successful candidate will be a graduate who is keen to develop their own practice, enjoy the challenge of helping students to learn and apply new knowledge, and wishes to gain experience of working in a Higher Education setting. Experiential and formal teacher training in higher education is available. Support for further personal/professional development will be given on a pro rata basis.
This is a permanent post based at the Nottingham Centre (Queens Medical Centre). Hours of work are part-time (14.5 hours per week) to be worked on Monday & Tuesday.
