This is an exciting opportunity for a dedicated professional to contribute to both our company’s success and help drive business growth. As we are a small but growing team of 8 people, we are looking for a team player who will fit in with our friendly, hardworking team.
Reporting to the Technical Director and working in collaboration with the other Technical team members to provide effective testing of our patented product in carbonated beverages. You will provide technical support to meet the business requirements of both our internal & external customers.
As the product technologist you will manage the pilot plant operator and their workload. You will be testing our patented product across different drink types, furthering the business understanding of new market opportunities. You will be responsible for developing new beverages from first principles across a wide range of beverage types and geographies. As an innovative and fast moving company you will be required to support the company’s patents with beverage formulation work.
You will use the data collected from pilot plant testing to present your findings to the team and create reports and graphs to share externally with customers. You will play a big part in a small team, liaising with the sales team for customer projects and designing internal projects of your own. The role will include basic sensory testing to determine our product performance in a wide variety of global branded drinks. You will be involved in NPD and progress our research into new markets.
This is an office based role with the core hours being 35 hours per week 8am – 4pm.
To be successful in your role the following Key Skills are required:
* Knowledge of beverage processing techniques, including carbonation, formulation experience / NPD in beverages or related industries
* Basic maths skills: able to work with recipes, % calculations and volume/ weight conversions
* Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot technical issues.
* Good communication skills and the ability to work in cross-functional teams.
* Good organisational skills
* Data analysis, report writing
* Understanding of sensory evaluation
The following skills are Desirable:
* Familiarity with food safety standards (e.g., HACCP, BRC, FSSC 22000) and regulatory compliance.
* Laboratory management experience

Pay: £30,000.00-£40,000.00 per year
