Job Title: Area Registered Manager - Staffordshire
Hours of Work: 37.5 hours per week
Salary Band: £50k - £52k (With a £3,000 Car Allowance)
Location: Field based – main office base
Reporting to: Head of Complex Services.
Responsible for: Cluster Team Manager & Operational Administrator.

We are looking to recruit an Area Registered Manager within our Supported Living Services in our Complex Services Division, leading the services effectively and ensuring that we are responsive to those we support in a caring and safe environment.

Key Responsibilities:
* To meet the requirements to register for CQC (This is either for single or dual registration)
* Create a positive team culture and role model excellent leadership and management practices where the company values are demonstrated
* Deliver responsive, effective, safe, caring support in a person-centred manner
* Establish good relationships with families, commissioners, advocates and other professionals
* Ensure outcomes for those within our services are met and reviewed in recognition of personal growth and development
* Guide practice within the team, delivering outcomes-based and person-centred services ensuring all our decisions are underpinned by the MCA/BI principles.
* Deliver the outcomes identified in the Quality Governance Strategy and Support Plans as appropriate
* Respond to local needs, filling voids within the service in a timely manner while supporting individual preferences, wishes and desires
* Support colleagues in monitoring and managing KPI data e.g. employee retention, sickness absence levels, and void fill
* Encourage an open culture in the team, listening to, and acting on opportunities and issues raised by the team where appropriate.
* Manage compliance with the company quality & assurance and improvement process and preferred practices, such as quality audits and reviews.
* Assure compliance with all contractual and regulatory requirements.
* Promote and deliver person-centred support, including positive risk assessment and management and positive behavioural support
* Ensure maintenance of a factual and accurate record of care delivery
* Recruit and retain the staffing establishment required to deliver an effective service in accordance with company policy, inclusive recruitment methods and legislative requirements.
* Plan and implement effective rotas and ensure all employees are paid correctly.

Ideal Candidate Requirements:
* NVQ Level 5 in Management or equivalent professional/academic qualification or willing to work towards
* Proven experience at a manager/supervisory level within Learning disabilities and/or mental health sector
* Experience of working as part of a Multi-disciplinary Team (MDT)
* Experience of recruiting (safer recruitment), inducting and training staff teams
* Experience of conducting disciplinary investigations and writing investigation reports
* Experience of working with individuals that have complex needs and demonstrate challenging behaviour
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills
* Concise, informative and accurate report writing skills
* Knowledge of CQC requirements/best practice
* Ability to support people in the community with an appropriate degree of risk management, within a legal framework (ie MCA/MHA)
* Numerical competence (rotas, financial matters)
* Ability to supervise others
* Flexible & committed and able to participate in on-call duties
* Honest, trustworthy, tolerant, patient
* Committed to anti-oppressive practice
Other Requirements:
* Full clean driving licence
* DBS Check
* Suitable References on appointment
Ensuring Financial Viability:
* A key responsibility of an Area Registered Manager is ensuring the service provided is financially viable
* Staff levels are in line with supported commissioned hours
* Expenditure is monitored and maintained
* Authorisation is requested prior to agreed limits
* Agency is limited and only used as a last resort.
* Work with our Business Development team to develop new business and to support the commissioning of new services
* Manage any voids in services and proactively market voids to ensure the void period is limited
* Carry out thorough and timely assessment of new referrals and submission of costing, once agreed through the Referral Assessment Transition and Admission Management
Health and Safety:
* Co-operate with the Company to ensure that regulations are adhered to by employees and visitors
* Undertake duties and responsibilities in full accordance with the Company’s Health and Safety Policy and Procedures and legislation
* Not interfere with or misuse anything provided in the interests of health and safety or welfare
* Ensure and observe that infection control policy is adhered to, through audit and observations, that PPE is worn as per government guidelines and when delivering personal care
* Record and report through CPOMS and escalate as required any defects in equipment or the working environment.
* Provide a safe working environment
Personal Development:
* Actively participate in own supervision and personal review processes in accordance with company policy
* Undertake any training that is deemed needed and mandatory by the company
* Commit to an agreed programme of personal development, training activities and undertake additional tasks and responsibilities as determined by the Company
