About the Role: As a key member of the finance team, you will be responsible for a wide range of financial duties, including: Payroll Processing: Manage the entire payroll function for approximately 20 employees, ensuring accurate and timely processing of salaries, deductions, and statutory submissions. Management Accounting: Prepare and analyze comprehensive management accounts to provide valuable insights into the business's financial performance, identifying key trends and areas for improvement. VAT Returns & Compliance: Handle all VAT-related activities, including returns, reconciliations, and ensuring full compliance with HMRC regulations. Bank Reconciliations: Conduct accurate and timely bank reconciliations to maintain financial integrity. Credit Control: Monitor and manage outstanding debts, proactively pursuing overdue payments and minimizing bad debt risk. Financial Reporting: Prepare and present clear and concise financial reports and analyses to support informed decision-making. General Accounting: Assist with various general accounting tasks, such as invoicing, purchase ledger, and trial balance preparation. About You: Proven experience as a Financial Assistant or in a similar role within a fast-paced environment. Essential: Hands-on experience in payroll processing, management accounts preparation, and VAT returns. Essential: Strong financial accounting knowledge, including understanding of accounting principles and best practices. Essential: Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Xero). Essential: Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to identify and resolve financial discrepancies. Essential: Strong attention to detail and accuracy in all financial work. Essential: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain strong relationships with colleagues and stakeholders.
